The Andartes
Work derived from the White Mountains on Crete and the secrets they held during the German occupation in the Second World War.
This series of work was motivated by a display of young children's drawings that I discovered in the Maritime Museum in Chania. They depicted the parachute invasion of 1941 and led me to investigate the Cretan Resistance Movement whose members were known as the Andartes.
