Celtic

Dunscaith Castle on Skye was the catalyst for a series of works derived from Celtic mythology and especially that surrounding the stories of Sgathaic and Cu Chulainn as recorded in "The Tain", the centre-piece of the eighth century Ulster cycle of heroic tales.
 It is mainly centred around the feats that Sgathaic, a warrior queen, taught to Cu Chulainn when he visited her to learn the secrets of warfare.
